Strategic Exit Advisors is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael O’Donnell, CFA, as Managing Director. With over two decades of experience in corporate finance, treasury, risk management, and investor relations, Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the firm.

Mike’s career began in investment banking, laying the foundation for his extensive experience in the financial sector. He has since held key positions in publicly traded, private equity owned, and nonprofit organizations across various industries, including automotive, chemical, mining/materials, telecom, hospitality, and education.

His diverse background equips him with a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing middle market companies. Mike’s return to investment banking is driven by his passion for helping business owners achieve optimal exits.



Growing up in a family of business owners and entrepreneurs, Mike has developed a deep appreciation for the dedication required to build and grow middle market companies. This personal connection fuels his commitment to guiding owners through the complex process of exiting their businesses in the most advantageous ways possible.

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College, where he was a member of the football team, an MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, and a Master’s in Taxation from Villanova University. He has also earned the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Residing in Devon, PA with his wife and children, Mike is an avid Appalachian Trail hiker and a self-described “forever-mediocre” golfer. He enjoys traveling to National Parks and sports stadiums with his family and friends, balancing his professional achievements with an active and fulfilling personal life.
